People over-hyped this series so thought it was going to be something completely out of this world, but it wasn't that special. For a fictional regency drama, it perpetuates the same themes we expect in 18th century drama's: of forbidden relationships, affairs, unrequited love, love-hate tension, desperate marriages and cliché love lines.
However, I picked up in this regency that the women are a bit more decisive. Other than that, very typical and cliché 18th century drama.
