The book 'Utopia' by Sir Thomas More can not be looked upon as a mere dream of excellence. Most of his visions of an ideal state are practical even today. Certainly, it would have been unacceptable at that time because of the revolutionary thinking about the need for the restructuring of the then society formed
on the basis of old concepts and social systems. Hestands for a warless society... He has strong leaning for the poor. He deams of a classless social system where everyone should work. Idle persons are to be banished. Thieves are the products of the luxurious living of the rich. They are not to be hanged , but used in war or employed to do hard work. He also advocated group farming and community kitchen which are acceptable even today. His approach to religion may be disputable, but has a vague view for making it somewhat liberal. Anyway, it is unjust to ignore the book as one that is fictional. Really the book was written for the time being and it gives a guidance to the formation of a new mature world sans maximum defects.
