Genuinely one of the worst movies I have ever seen. It started with a good premise even though the beginning was a little slow. Unfortunately, the movie after the first would you rather test sharply decreased in quality. The first test was a good use of the main theme of the movie of moral ambiguity behind sacrificing someone else for yourself. The second test however, was the moment I realized this movie was going to be awful. During the second test the doctor that recommended the game to Iris starts trying to sneak in to interrupt the game in an unnecessarily long and uninteresting sub plot that keeps eating up screen time until he gets shot seconds after interacting with Iris making that entire sub plot worthless to the overall story, it would've been exactly the same effect on the story if they just cut to footage of a dog taking a walk for 5 minutes. The second test completely throws the interesting idea that the moderators are just observers when the son of the billionaire somehow dictates the rules of the next game making it stacked against Travis in an insanely unfair way, Travis was killed because he was mean to a spoiled rapist which the moderator should've not punished. Speaking of the son, the movie tries way too hard to make characters unlikable, there are very obvious good guys and bad guys, there is no moral ambiguity so theres no way you can relate to any of the characters. The third test was something actually fair and was very symbolic as the problems in the card were much worse than the barrel, similar to the metaphor the moderator gave earlier (The known and unknown). The movie ends with iris living and having to shoot the final participant in order to get payed, extreme moral ambiguity as she picked to kill a stranger than indirectly killing her brother by not taking the money and bone marrow needed to treat him. The final scene however was done well, the big reveal is the brother of Iris killed himself to not be a financial burden to his sister, something the movie foreshadowed with Iris's flashback to her brothers dream of her family drowning under a boat. This movie could've been handled way better and trimmed of a lot of unnecessary content along with better tests so I would give this movie a 2/10 do not watch this movie unless you want to be mad and disappointed because of how much it doesn't make sense.
