David Koepfli (pron:KEFF-ly)was born in Los Angeles in 1940. He was educated at the Cate School near Santa Barbara and received a Harvard AB as well as a MA (English) at Stanford. He was married twice and wrote novels and traveled extensively in tweeds with his dime thin bespoke black leather jacket "Parsifal". He lived in North Beach in San Francisco until his death in 1995. His published work includes The Palm Casino (novel)as well as Party on the Nile (short stories). He was writing a travel memoir about K2 /Godwin-Austen Glacier when he died .
