I've been a cop for 28 years... I worked in the detective section and I'm currently a police administrator. I can tell you, this is the most realistic cop show ever. There is no better humor than a cop's (its got to be great or you'll go crazy). The citizens in the show are the same types we'd deal with daily... the regular criminals, mentals, victims and witnesses. The situations that people find themselves in are reflected in the show, every episode... I probably became a cop because I grew up watching the show and continue to watch the re-runs today. My favorite character is Inspector Luger. There is always some "dinosaur" in the precinct that talks about how "they used to do it in the old days".... his morbid, out of touch views are hilarious......
