As a survivor, this movie made me feel triggered and sad. I thought some of the jokes were really misguided, and the ending was awful. It's relevant, thought-provoking, and it has a wicked edge, but it could have been better. The sliver of accountability Cassie eventually achieves is lukewarm compared to the incredible tragedy contained in this film. The message feels like a hopeless one. It's not what survivors need. If it hopes to call out the "nice guy" and even larger aspects of our culture for their victimization of women, it manages to scratch the surface, and it's even gratifying a few times throughout the film. The cast and the soundtrack are probably the best parts of this movie, but the story disappoints.
