Appreciated the attention to cultural details and tribute to chinese legend. However, the film tries too hard to be a disney sing-along. I wanted to like it but found the storyline forced, a little stale, and random. Watched this with my chinese parents and they agreed. Spoilers: My favorite parts were the cooking of mooncakes and the portrayal of family gatherings. Pop Chang'e and the dancing moon cakes were bizarre and did very little for the storyline. I did enjoy the ping-pong rap battle.
