So I gave this documentary a three but I think a three and a half would be more suitable. The series was good, I was actually tensed the whole time watching it. I enjoyed the way they portrayed the story, the editing was clean, and the interviews were pretty insightful. The reason I gave it a three and a half was just because they left a few questions unanswered, like how he found Baudi Moovin’s place of work and the follow up to that, they were also more emotional towards the animals than towards the victim (Thats not to say that they didn’t pay tribute to Jun Li because they did).
Also a quick warning. Don’t watch it if you are sensitive, a lot of people rate it a 1 star because of the animal videos in the beginning (they don’t actually show it). Don’t watch it if you are offended easily, in the end Baudi Moovin says that you are complicit in the crime for watching this documentary, some folks get mad and blame directors for “spreading what should have stayed hidden” or “inspiring others to do the same thing”. (This doesn’t make sense to me because people clicked on it knowing it was a serial killer documentary).
Yeah, so good editing and story telling, some unanswered questions, and (subjectively) graphic parts.
Condolences to Jun Li and family.
