It was absolutely awful. I have been a fan since the first book came out and I am devastated to see how this story was ruined. Literally a painful read. Previously, I have never subscribed to the conspiracy theories that Souljah did not author the original book but I am on board with that idea now. The writing style was a complete departure from the original book; Winter’s internal monologue was not even consistent with things she would believably say (in the first book). Instead, the tone was extremely preachy and insistent upon an agenda of “convert to Islam or go to hell”. There were lots of demonic undertones. What a let down for a generation of readers.
