I had too much hope from this show. The starting scene was really good, it felt like it was a world on its own, and every character planned to be unique and mature but then my hopes getting down with each episode.
No character was in place expect possibly Merlin the magician.
The whole script had misplaces priorities. Almost every scene was predictable. And yet unpredictable as to why is this even happening among other alternative realities?.
The focus was much on dialogues and memories rather action and consequences.
The characters surrounding the protagonist were quite lame.
War victories were shown as if they were piece of cake. No clarification of her powers, how she really got them. At first it seemed like the ring in Lord of the rings, which lures anyone to use its power so it can be detected by Sauron, but here no explanation of its motives or whatsoever . Same resemblance is with the caves.
What is the purpose of Widow here? She suddenly appears and uses her power like its fairy tale. Her role and connection with Merlin is not even remotely clear.
Sometime it feels like Merlin is immortal, sometimes he be getting killed so easily.
it seems like plethora of too many random scenes, without proper background or description, the viewers are confused whether it is worthy to remember this village name or they are randomly placing cities.
The only scene I liked is the last one where Merlin finally wields the sword, then it was clear that the sword can really do something and not just a gimmick toy in the story.
The geography is poorly described and probably thought by script writers.
There were not any dynamics of any event, even war. It feels like people were greatly affected by the consequences, but in another episode its like it never even happened.
Ans if she really wants to use that sword and the magic , then learn to use it properly. what a waste of 10 episodes when you want to save a race with magic yet not able to even learn it properly. She was swinging with the thoughts of whether to use it or not. Yet she be like I am the queen and I will save everyone. Just make your mind.
it felt like a children's show. The starting was great but felt like every other plot was just lost with glory and dialogues.
I get it, they saved the reasoning to another season, but it is probably not worth it.
You are not gonna win anything by kindness. It is a mature show, so you should show reality, brutality, opportunity, fate, cruelty of time, glory and greed of kings and foolishness of the lost, mysteries of the devil and God, war strategies (not like the siege that happened in the series)
sacrifices of the brave, cultures of the tribes, and the sufferings of the protagonist and path of all those who dream beyond their scope. That brings a character to life and it remains engraved in our memory.
That's what I hoped with this show.
