Degrassi is by far, the most relatable, beautiful, amazing show I have ever seen. They were the FIRST tv show ever to have a transgender character, it had a 14 year old girl get an abortion, several rape storylines, have one of the first transgender characters in a show, suicide, eating disorders, addictions, and tackled pretty much every problem a teenager can go through. Not to mention bringing up racism and focusing on that more than once. This show has helped so many teenagers (like myself) go through their problems and trauma and help us feel less alone. Everything they displayed was accurate and comforting as it makes you feel less alone. For everyone pressed over the "misogyny" in this, please remember the show you're actually talking about. There was a line in next class, not next generation, that states, "Taylor Swift made a career off her exes". Now I'm a swiftie myself, but when she came out and spoke about her being shamed in shows, she was talking about ginny and georgia, not degrassi. PLEASE stop giving this show 1 stars annd grow up people. This show literally talks about women empowerment way more than once. I understand why you would want to defend your favorite celebrity, but you're in the wrong place.
