A literal masterpiece! not even for one moment did I feel bored while watching this absolute gem of a movie. perfect cast, touching music, amazing cinematography; this movie has it all! I couldn't believe it came out in 2009, this movie was so ahead of its time. every single time I watch it, it never gets old. not every movie is capable of keeping its audience so hooked and engaged like this one. please give it a watch, I promise you won't regret it :)

As an Afghan Hazara, this movie is the most inaccurate one I've watched. Hazaras are the most persecuted and vulnerable community in Afghanistan, with an active genocide going against them right now. To paint them as the oppressors is just plein disrespectful and infuriating. If you wanna make a movie about another country/people, at least do your research properly. And those "Hazara" men don't even look Hazara. Disappointing and tragic honestly!

Wow wow wow! This book left me feeling so empty, yet full of emotions. The author did the most amazing job and she writes so beautifully!! I was bewitched by her words and found myself admiring her writing throughout the whole book. Novels like this are very rare and I will cherish it forever. Please give it a read. I promise you won't regret it.
