Too many americanisms. They keep using the following terms which is so annoying:
Fill out the form - no, it's fill in the form
Driver's license - no, it's driving licence
For free- who is free? Something for nothing is free and not for free
Pre order. How can you pre order goods. You can order them, yes but this implies you do something else before you order
So - as in you are so dumped. You are dumped but not so dumped.
How are you? I'm good. Good? I didn't ask about your behaviour. I asked about your wellbeing.
And don't get me started on singular and plural rules which they seem to break constantly. I mean: none of the passengers were injured. - surely someone on the news team has a basic grasp of english? Mixing singular ( none - short for not one - singular) and (were - plural)
It should be none of the passengers was injured.
Strange times I know.
