The way this movie was promoted completely undermines and takes away from the message of the movie. I wish more people would watch it before running with headlines because as a young woman myself i'm glad this movie was made to show the realities of what it feels like to be a girl. The Netflix description and promo completely took away from that. We need more movies that make us feel and see the realities of what it is like to grow up in the upcoming times. I'm going to watch this movie with my future daughter and have a conversation with my future son about how to respect young girls and women and what it means to be one. 5 stars because America isn't ready for this conversation and you can see that in this movie as the parents of those girls were absent. I think parents today rather turn a blind eye and push away a conversation we need to have about the way we treat, watch and understand what it means to be a girl in this world.
