As a long time fan of the genre, I give it 9 of 10 bats. And it only registered a 1 on my Cheese-O-Meter (specially calibrated for vampire films), which is a good trick for a show that opens with stake-toting nuns.
It nods at may of its film predecessors, without ripping them off, and still managed to make me blink with "Wait... what?" surprise.
Claes Bang as Dracula did a brilliant job of balancing being simultaneously charismatic and repulsive.
