The original book is an excellent glimpse into the life and gardens of the late 1930s. After coming out of the depression the book became a bible of sorts for anyone who was serious about gardening. The Bush-Browns broke new ground for garden design while also being excellent horticulturists. I have three editions of the book that were printed and continue to go back to this book for inspiration.
