I have now read the books and my verdict is; the show does it better. The show tells the story chronologically (so far), with a tighter connection between it's leading characters. It's actually incredibly well adapted. The core elements are the same but the way it's portrayed is improved. I'm excited beyond measure to see how they present Dark Forest to us. This should honestly be your "that show". Like Lost, or Game of Thrones, 3 Body Problem should be an internationally captivating show that's talked about at the table. The fact some people consider the ideas "far-fetched" is truly short sighted. 3 Body provides such an amazingly grounded science-fiction alternate-reality that it is possible, and should then be believable, in every possible sense. Some people have shallow minds.

This is shaping up to be my favorite Far Cry in the series. There's been a lot of complaint about "the Ubisoft formula" but I think this is a welcoming refined, immersive, and integrated version which hardly feels like "turn all the red locations blue" at all.
