(Spoiler Free) As a casual gamer I have to say this game blew me away. If you are looking for a game with sunshine and butterflies at the end of the road I suggest you try another title. The moments where Naughty Dog allows you a small warm fuzzy feeling is almost always followed up by a gut punch that reaffirms the bleak and unforgivable world that Ellie lives in. And yes, lesbians still exist even in a zombie apocalypse, get over it.
Naughty Dog masterfully confronts the player to ask themselves if their favorite characters from the first game were truly in the right. The game asks "are there really any heroes?" in post apocalyptic America. The answer is not one that all gamers will like. If you are fan of story driven games and welcome some uncomfortable moments, when the credits roll in the Last of Us 2 I guarantee the player will feel some type of way. The fact that this game can elicit such polarizing and passionate emotions from the gaming community is proof that Last of Us 2 succeeds in its mission turn players preconceived notions on their head.
