I have not seen one fundamental scientific issue even discussed in any Star Trek episode or movie. And that is, there is a scientific problem with the transporter. And that problem is the reconstitution of the memory of the transported person. Our lifetime memory is accumulated over a lifetime, some of that in the form of RNA molecules. That memory is not going to be as simple to restore after transportation. It is quite different from reconstituting someone's body. I have an idea how this question can be a very engaging Star Trek feature.
