PIG is a subtle, sad, beautiful movie that cut me straight to my core. As others have mentioned, Cage and Wolfe give excellent performances, but imo the real star of the show is the story/writing. It is a nuanced and empathetic look at the loneliness and grief that we all carry inside ourselves; filled with moments of genuine humanity.
I'm saddened by the amount of one-star reviews calling this movie 'slow' and 'boring.' However art is a subjective thing, and if the only kind of movies you enjoy are explosion-filled action movies or Judd Apatow comedies this may not be for you. On the other hand, those who enjoy quality original storytelling that does not spoonfeed you the same old tricks will not be disappointed by PIG: the best film of 2021 so far.
