Having seen the Fisher King for the first time in 2022, I must say it is an inspiring movie that was almost great. The acting was wonderful, as were the characters, however the movie took a sudden romantic turn that was very off putting. You are set up to believe that it is a movie about trauma, homelessness, and mental health only to find a romance movie about compassion hidden within. It teases greater themes, and ultimately resolves them, but the overall composition of the movie was just short of great. The ending is lovely and this is an enjoyable watch, especially for the acting of the 4 main characters, so I would still recommend it to anyone! Especially if you aren't a critic!
