Lives up to the SAC series. It contains action sequences like Arise, especially in the beginning, but eventually dials it back enough to let the plot take precedence. It starts out slow, which explains the slog of people berating the show, however for those who stuck around past episodes 1 & 2, you were in for a treat. It sucks you back into the SAC world and lore with a couple updates to characters you missed since the early 2000’s series. It also sports most (if not all) of the previous voice talents reprising their roles, at least in the English dub.
Tl;dr Don’t judge a book by its cover. Give it a watch and you’ll remember why the SAC series is beloved.
