Ignore all the one-star reviews from people having an aneurysm over things like black elves. Their reviews reveal more about them than they do the show itself.
That the producers chose to have a diverse cast to appeal to a larger audience and make others feel represented on screen hurts me not in the least. And I couldn’t give a rip about what Tolkien would or wouldn’t have wanted. The stories can grow beyond him, just as Star Wars can grow beyond Lucas. I love this show. It’s compelling, entertaining, well-acted and has the same epic feel as Jackson’s trilogy.
