Great graphics, solid building interface for early access. Much more polished than many other sandbox games in early access.
Game physics and atmosphere are impressive. You find yourself trying to build up above the grass blade jungle to watch for spiders moving through the 'forest' (ie: Velociraptors style in the tall grass).
Sound effects are on point, the chase/battle music is intense. For a kid friendly looking game it has a lot of fear induced adrenaline moments.
Night time is very dark until the moon comes out. If they stick to the current atmospheric themes and add dynamic weather this will be extremely immersive gameplay for all ages.
Multiplayer hosting as of this post (8/1/2021) is solid - I have played for many hours with friends without a single crash.
Updates are on par with AAA game expectations -- the engine they are using works quite well. Water effects, lighting & basic combat all feel impactful and solid.
If they can keep to their plans and actually release the game within 48 months they should have a hit on their hands. It doesn't have Zombie hordes or hard core PvP, but it doesn't need either.
Grounded is a fresh new game, with tons of atmosphere, solid build mechanics, stable multiplayer & significant content updates. Despite the $30 price tag it may be worth it as of the Shrooms and Doom update to pick it up.
Prior to the most recent content drop, their was no BOSS monster/quest. As of now the new building materials and mobs could justify the $30 price IF you are a fan of the "Honey I shrunk the Kids" style sandbox world.
It is not procedural, but not every game needs that imo.
