This movie disappointed me, perhaps as a man I could not associate with the direction that a young Austrian girl was trying to fit in with her new world.I would think that many female viewers followed her story with admiration for her inner strengh to carry her through a strict regime of French court protocal. Although a sumptious movie I could not take those days with modern music, made it only half acceptable. Good acting but very slow in places with silent stares. Hardly recognised Marianne Faithfull.
