I just washed the episode about Monotasking. It was so refreshing to hear someone promoting the idea that we should be able to live without cell phones. I am 49 years old and I have a 30 year old daughter and she knows with no uncertainty that if she pulls out her cell phone at the dinner table that is her self-invitation to leave. My father used to get aggravated with me when he called me at work and I didn't answer . He knew the landline number and could easily reach me but instead chose to use my cell phone and I think it was without consciously knowing it a way to Guilt Trip me for not being there. My response to anyone who has ever said I didn't answer my phone Timely was this, I pay my bill oh, it is for my personal use, if you want me to be at your beckon call 24/7 you are welcome to pay my bill. Once you do that I will answer my phone every time you call. Until then it is mine and I get to choose how to use it. I wish more people would understand that social media is not a necessity, it is at best a hobby. And the more you get sucked into it, the more you lose the quality of actually living your life. Bravo for daring to state the unpopular, but obvious threat to natural human interaction.
