Pushpa 2: The Rule Review Rating : 3.5/5 Performances : AllU Arjun is in top form and he continues it with Pushpa 2, this time much bigger and better in terms of performance, effort, hard work, versatility, and variations. His act in this film as Pushpa Raj is flawless . Watch out for his act in the Jathara portions. Be it dances or fights, Allu Arjun has killed it with his swag. Rashmika Mandanna is also terrific in his role and gives a solid performance. Fahadh Faasil attracted with his mannerisms and body language. The scenes featuring Fahadh Faasil and Allu Arjun stands out. Rao Ramesh made his presence felt with his body language and mannerisms. Jagapathi Babu is ok in the role of the Union Minister. Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari ably supports Pushpa throughout the film and he does well in all his scenes as Kesava. Sunil, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Brahmaji, Ajay, Kalpalatha & Tarak Ponnappa are first-rate in their supporting parts. Technical values : Director Sukumar did a brilliant job with his craft and his whole presentation looked grand on screen. He took a simple plot line and focussed more on elevating the character through powerful scenes and he succeeds big time in doing so. The way he presented Allu Arjun in this film deserves a lot of credit as this is one of the best performances from AA in his entire career. Devi Sri Prasad came up with foot tapping tunes for all the songs and background score also good. The cinematography by Mireslow Kuba Brozek is one of the biggest strengths of the film in the technical department. He gives the film a big canvas through his camera work and all the action portions are particularly shot well. The action choreography by Peter Hein, Dragon Prakash, Kecha, & Navakanth is of top quality. All the action blocks stand as a big highlight of the movie. The production values by Mythri Movie Makers & Sukumar Writings are grand. Devara : Part 1 Review Rating : 3.5/5 Performances : Jr NTR excels in his dual roles as Devara and Vara. His portrayal of Devara, both humble and fierce, contrasts sharply with Vara's innocence, highlighting his versatility. He effortlessly commands attention, giving the film its heart and soul. Saif Ali Khan as vengeful Bhaira, delivers an impressive performance, providing a strong antagonist to Jr NTR. Janhvi Kapoor makes her entry in the second half, adding glamour to her brief appearance. Her graceful moves in the Chuttamalle song are sure to captivate. The supporting cast, including Shruthi Marathe, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, Narain, Kalaiarasan, Murli Sharma, Ajay, and Abhimanyu Singh, all deliver solid performances, contributing effectively to their respective roles. Technical Values : Koratala Siva, known for his strong direction, has once again done an exceptional job. He skillfully brings together powerful action sequences, strong character arcs, and an emotional storyline. The director’s ability to balance action with emotional depth is what makes Devara stand out. The larger-than-life visuals, captured by renowned cinematographer Ratnavelu, elevate the film to a grand cinematic experience. Each frame is crafted with precision, making the film a visual treat that demands to be seen on the big screen. Hollywood stunt choreographer Kenny Bates delivering some well-composed action scenes. Anirudh Ravichander’s music and background score further enhance the film’s emotional and dramatic beats, contributing to the overall immersive experience. Saripodhaa Sanivaaram Review Rating : 3.25/5 Performances : Nani is terrific in the lead role as Surya. His role has dual shades and he shines in both of them. It is a cakewalk for him to play the guy who suppresses his anger and be a guy next door while as a guy with anger issues, he unleashes the beast in him in a massy way and gives a standout performance. SJ Suryah is the biggest highlight of the film. He is excellent as the ruthless cop Daya and impresses big time with his trademark mannerisms, funny comedy timing, and unique dialogue delivery. In fact he does outshine Nani in a few scenes and steals the show. Priyanka Mohan is so adorable in her role as the hero’s love interest. She delivers a neat performance and her chemistry with Nani is decent. Sai Kumar does well as the hero’s father while Abhirami leaves a decent mark as the mother in the flashback portions. Murali Sharma who plays the politician and Harshavardhan as SJ Suryah’s side kick are good in their respective roles. Aditi Balan, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Ajay, Ajay Ghosh, Supreeth, Sivaji Raja & others are neat in their limited supporting roles. Technical Values : Director Vivek Athreya has mixed mass moments and content in the best way possible and showcases the film in a superb manner. The way he narrated a simple thread with amazing screenplay is the best part of the film. The racy screenplay is the biggest assets. Saripodhaa Sanivaaram has one of the best background scores in recent times. The entire action part is elevated superbly by Jakes Bejoy. His score in the action blocks is stunning. Cinematography by Murali G. is first-rate. All the action scenes are shot well and the lighting is on point. production values by DVV Entertainment are grand. Double ismart review Rating : 2.75/5 Performances : Ram Pothineni is the biggest asset of the film. He literally shoulders the entire film on his own shoulders and it is his terrific performance and kickass energy as iSmart Shankar that makes this film watchable. His mass attitude, unique comedy timing, and intense dialogue delivery are on point. Special mention to his dances in the film. He just kills it. Kavya Thapar, who plays Shankar’s love interest, shares good chemistry with Ram, adding a romantic touch to the film. Sanjay Dutt adds good value to the film with his amazing screen presence and does well as an international don. Jhansi made an impact with her emotional performance. Ali irritated with his role. Others like Shayaji Shinde, Makarand Desh Pande are ok with their performances. Technical values : Puri’s Jagannadh's attempt to explore the innovative idea of transferring memories between individuals ultimately lacks impact. Puri Jagannadh’s work on the story, screenplay, and direction misses the mark. The plot feels dated, and both the screenplay and direction are notably underwhelming. Mani Sharma is like the second hero of the film, delivering double-impact music. Every song is a hit. The background score is also strong. Cinematography by Sam K Naidu & Gianni Giannelli is first-rate. All the scenes are shot well with good lighting and perfect framing. Production values by Puri Connects are top-class. Jagapathi Babu delivers a strong performance as the formidable antagonist, particularly in his intense scenes with Ravi Teja. Satya is superb in the first half and evokes superb comedy. His background score is excellent and elevates the film whenever required. The cinematography by Ayananka Bose is top-notch. He gives the required scale to the film with his brilliant camera work and framing. The production values by People Media Factory are grand. Indian 2 Review Rating : 3/5 Performances : Kamal Haasan, as always, delivers a committed performance, bringing his signature intensity and charisma to the role. He strives to elevate the scenes through his expressive body language and screen presence. He does a solid job in all the fight sequences. Siddharth stands out with a commendable performance, especially in the emotional scenes. He is the main highlight of the film as he gets many scenes in the sequel. SJ Surya has very limited scenes but kills it with his performance and presence whenever he comes on screen. His whole get-up is well-designed. Samuthirakani and Bobby Simha did well in their respective roles. Priya Bhavani Shankar and Rakul Preet Singh are okay in their limited roles. Brahmananadam, appearing briefly, delivers his usual comedic charm. The rest of the supporting cast performs in accordance with their respective roles. Technical values : Director Shankar deserves credit for the concept of reviving Senapathi to fight corruption in a modern context. Shankar's signature grandeur is evident in the technical finesse of "Indian 2." The film showcases elaborate set designs and seamless visual effects, enhancing the cinematic experience. The cinematography by Ravi Varman is the biggest plus of the film. He makes sure that the canvas of the film is big with his superb camera work and framing. Anirudh bgm and songs are good. The production values by Lyca Productions are grand. Kalki 2898 AD Review : Excellent Attempt. Rating : 4/5 Performances : Prabhas, with his towering personality, breathed life into the story. He showcased a range of emotions according to his role, In the first half, Prabhas played an entertaining part, interacting with his futuristic car Bujji, voiced by Keerthy Suresh. As the story progressed, he took over with intense action scenes during the interval block and throughout the second half. The scenes involving Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan deliver goosebumps. The climax and pre-climax are particularly gripping, filled with intense action elements. Amitabh Bachchan powered the film to another level with his stunning screen presence, stealing the show from his entry to the climax. His mannerisms and body language made a powerful impact. Deepika Padukone is impressive in the role of SUM-80, portraying a pregnant woman in pain to perfection, and she shines in a deglamorized role. Kamal Haasan captured everyone's imagination with his performance. In the climax, he surprises everyone, setting the tone for the second part. Disha Patani dazzled in the role of Roxie, while Rajendra Prasad, Shobhana, Swastha Chatterjee, Brahmanandam, Pasupathy, Anna Ben, and Malavika Nair delivered strong performances, carrying the film forward. The cameos featuring Rajamouli, Vijay Deverakonda, Ram Gopal Varma, Dulquer Salmaan, and others add an exciting element to the film. Technical Values : Director Nag Ashwin has reimagined the Hindu epic of Mahabharatham and spun a story surrounding the Kalki characters. The film essentially deals with extreme past in the mythology and the extreme future, involving the Kasi city. Basing a film on mythology and reimagining it with a futuristic approach is the mainstay of the film.The second half is where everything unfolds and it is packed with action. Nagi did a great job in translating what he has envisioned on to the silver screen with utmost precision especially in the later half. Santosh Narayan background score is superb. The cinematography by Djordje Stojiljkovic is extravagant, with captivating visuals, VFX, and CGI that enhance the film's futuristic setting. The dialogues are well-written, adding depth to the characters and story. The production values of Vyjayanthi Movies are top-notch, contributing to the film's overall high quality. Harom Hara Review : Sudheer Babu One Man Show. Rating : 3/5 Performances : Sudheer Babu who always tries different genres and concepts, comes up with a massy action film this time. He looks solid in his mass avatar and gives out a nuanced performance as Subramaniyam. This is surely one of his career-best performances after ‘Sammohanam’. He nails all his action sequences and is equally good in the emotional parts as well. Malvika Sharma, despite having a limited role, made her presence felt and looked stunning on screen. Sunil delivered a commendable performance as the suspended SI, elevating scenes alongside Sudheer Babu. Jayaprakash brought emotional depth to his role as the father, while Ravi Kale, Lakki Lakshman, and Arjun Gowda were convincingly menacing as villains. Akshara Gowda's portrayal of cop Kiranmayee was notable, though the role itself lacked depth. The rest of the cast performed well in their respective roles. Technical values : Director Gnanasagar Dwaraka does an impressive job with his presentation. He has handled the scale of the film in a commendable manner and keeps the setup very authentic. The way he showcased Sudheer in a massy avatar also deserves credit. But had he had a few fresh elements along with some gripping drama that complimented the action parts, this film would have been memorable. The songs by Chaitan Bharadwaj are good. ‘Kanulenduko’ song and the title track are superb. But it is his background score that takes the film to another level. His score in all the elevation scenes is perfect. Arvind Viswanathan's cinematography is commendable, realistically portraying the rustic Rayalaseema and Kuppam atmosphere. The production values by Sree Subrahmanyeshwara Cinemas are first-rate. Tillu Square Review : Hilarious Fun Ride. Rating : 3.25/5 Performances : Siddhu Jonnalagadda nailed the performance as Tillu yet again. His one-liners are flawless and his dialogue timing always worked. From dialogues to dances, expressions to attire, Siddhu Jonnalagadda is very impressive as DJ Tillu. Anupama Parameswaran, on the other hand, dazzles with her bold and uninhibited performance, leaving no stone unturned in showcasing her beauty and charisma. Neha Shetty surprises with her cameo appearance reigniting the spark. Muralidhar Goud and CVL.Narasimha Rao portray the fathers of the male and female leads convincingly, adding to the realism of their roles. Murali Sharma, though in a limited role, leaves a mark with his performance. The rest of the cast performs admirably, staying true to their characters and adding to the overall narrative. Technical Values : The director Mallik Ram has built on the world set up by the first part and he does a fine job with regard to connecting the dots from the first part. He laces comedy tracks based on the main characters from the first part. Dialogues are the biggest highlights and full marks to Siddhu for penning some hilarious dialogue. The music composed by Ram Miryala and Achu Ramani is energetic and foot-tapping, with beautifully shot songs adding to the film's extravagance. Bheems Ceciroleo's background score enhances the scenes, elevating them to another level. The cinematography is good and so are the production values. Hanu Man review : Devotional Super Hero. My rating : 3.5/5 Performances : Teja Sajja did a wonderful job. He is completely believable as an aimless youngster. He is at ease during entertaining scenes and showed maturity during emotional portions as well. He is believable as the superhero and his styling is also done in a wonderful manner. His energy and performance is truly an asset to this film. Amritha Aiyer looked beautiful and got a lot of screen time. He is decent in her role. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar is fantastic as the hero’s sister and her action during emotional scenes is amazing. She brings an emotional touch to this movie. Vinay Rai is good as the villain though his character looks like it is taken straight out of a Hollywood movie. Vennela Kishore gets a brief role and evokes laughs. Getup Srinu provides a lot of entertainment as the hero’s sidekick and Satya’s portions are quite hilarious. The rest of the actors are apt for their roles. Technical values : Prasanth Varma’s vision is superb, and the young director played to the gallery with Hanu-Man. Even though the movie has a beaten-to-death concept, the director inserts high moments at regular intervals and keeps one engaged. Prasanth Varma takes the impact a few notches higher with the last twenty minutes. All the scenes related to Lord Hanuman are well presented. The camera work by Dasaradhi Sivendra is top-notch. All the frames look grand giving a rich canvas look on the big screens. The songs by Gowra Hari, Anudeep Dev & Krishna Saurabh are lovely and go in quite well with the narrative. The background score by Gowra Hari complements the narrative whenever required and adds good value to the key scenes. Special mention to the whole art department and the VFX department for the grand visuals. All the VFX shots look pretty decent and proving this kind of output with the limited budgets is truly commendable. The production values by Primeshow Entertainment are grand.
