There is nothing wrong with being artistic or adding an edge to your work. However, when you lose focus of the entire point of the film for the majority of it, it feels like your watching some heavily edited vlog. The point was to define and explore what anime was and what was it's appeal (at least that's what it said it was supposed to do at the start). There are so many sidetracks that it doesn't feel like that at all. There are points were the documentary just focuses on the "director" (?) walking around Tokyo and eating food claiming it could "explain" something about "why anime is so weird".
