I love the premise, the visual effects and the actors are talented. But I shouldn't wishing harm befalls the protagonists!
Maddening the script - why, oh why do writers insist on lazy writing that renders people dolts? The setting is fantastic, I get it.
But no reasonable person, even kids, would behave this way.
In Alien/Aliens - Ripley had a damn good reason for going back to LV-426. When she went back to retrieve Newt, her surrogate child, we got it. We could empathize.
But in Invasion?
Mitsuki, a trained scientist, excessively whining like a baby for Ms. Major Tom? Really?
Jamila and her school-aged entourage casually exploring obviously lethal alien 'eggs' in the chunnel instead of fleeing in blinding panic? Seriously?
I was rooting for the aliens!
Come on! I could write it better! Ruining a good thing.
