Lost the will to live watching this. Why are animated films for kids so tedious now. What happened to movies like Shrek and Toy story,Lion King, Tangled and Encanto where the films were fun for kids and adults with great music, animation and jokes. Now they all seem bland as hell. I really hated every frame of this movie and felt like I had brain damage afterwards. I swear it lowered my IQ. My daughter enjoyed it so mission accomplished but it was really a poor effort.

Alien Romulus does for Alien what force awakens did for star wars playing like a compilation of the series greatest hits. It captures the look and feel of the original films. All the band is here, face huggers, xenomorphs, creepy space ships. It's designed to be a fun, scary crowd pleaser for fans old and new to the franchise. Veterans of series may get a strong sense of deja vue but it's a solid entry to the franchise,.

This might be one of the most under-rated trilogies in modern cinema. The first pitch black is a solid sci -fi horror and the sequal is a big epic space opera. The third film is perfect blend of what has come before with some cool action and spectacular visual effects. Why I live in a universe with ten fast and furious movies and only three Riddick ones is a tragic mystery. Riddick unlike something like recent star wars and Dune movies , is sci-fi movie made for adults with a sense of fun and adventure.The film blends elements of classic films Conan the barbarian and Aliens into violent action packed story that is isnt trying to do anything but entertain you. I think this might be Vin Diesels best movie and I am happy to hear he is producing a forth instalment. The almost wordless first act is a highlight as Riddick navigates the harsh wasteland of a barren world with just a space-dog for company. I loved it.

Saw this with a friend at the local cinema. It's cyberpunk noir detective story with a private investigator hired to find a missing student from a high profile tech university. It's in the far future where humans have colonized the solar system and robots, synthetic humans and AI are everywhere. Nearly every human is a cyborg and computers are now felshy biological entities with one eye. People can have their personality downloaded into a robot upon death making somewhat immortal. If you have seen blade runner and ghost in the shell, then there is little new here story wise. In fact the Sci fi concepts seem a little dated. The animation is well done and there is some fun action sequences but we've seen it done better and more original before.

As a huge fan of the orignal show I was very impressed with this prequel. It does what a good prequel should do which is expand the world David Chase has created with new characters and stories that impact on later events depicted in the original series. I loved Vera Farmiga playing Tony's mum. The conflicted gangster Dickie Moltasanti, played by Alessandro Nivola was a compelling central character with as much depth and complexity as Gandolfini's Tony Soprano. I enjoyed this alot more than Scorsese's Netflix film the Irishman which is very similar to this movie . I thought this movie had more substance and weight to it. The entire cast were terrific too. It's extremely violent too which is to be expected. I thought the actors playing younger versions of the characters from the show were amazing. It's a real treat for the fans.

One of the strangest Films I have ever seen. It combines awesome practical effects and buckets of fake blood to tell a macabre tale. The story is linear. A hendonistic traveler purchases a magic puzzle box from a middle eastern vendor which opens a portal to another dimension and releases the demonic cenobites that proceed to tear the man to shreds. The story then becomes a freakish retelling of the nursery Ryme Humpty dumpty as the man Frank seeks victims to restore his flesh and bone. This has a clunky script and wooden dialogue. The performances are mostly terrible. But the gore and particle effects make it a fascinating movie to watch. I had no idea where the movie was going. It was more disturbing than scary. Clive Barkers story is like the perverted deprived fantasies of a murderous psychopath. I can how it is a classic and despite its flaws it is still a really fun horror movie

I grew up in the eighties and one of my earliest memories was watching the masters of the universe cartoon. My bedroom was full of the toys including battlecat and the castle greyskull playset. I watched the movie staring Dolph Lundgren and Courtney Cox way too many times . So when Netflix hired Kevin Smith to reboot the show I was looking forward seeing what they would do with it. I supposed this being a show from the same animation house that gave us Castlevania and Blood Zeus to be aimed at the adults who grew up witj the orignal show. It is instead a reboot aimed at pre teens and a main storyline that is not centered on the main protagonist He-Man. Here He-man is more of a mythical character in the background while, the story focuses on his sidekick Teela. This caused alot noise online from annoyed fan boys who wanted He-man , to be the focus of the show. I admit I think it was a terrible choice to not focus the story on He man. Netflix already did a She Ra reboot that didn't find a female audiance. He-man is a boyish power fantasy and about as masculine as things get.this show is not as bad as the toxic fan boys make it out to be but the storylines are not particularly memorable either. It has some good épisodes and it's the kind of thing you could watch stoned and eat breakfast cereal in the morning at weekends. You will be entertained but there is alot of potential in this series genre of sword and sorcery and dying earth to explore. The genre has, a rich history that the writers can mine and exploit to tell compelling storylines inspired by the pulps of Robert E Howard, Fritz Lieber and Jack Vance and Micheal Moorcock. Many of which are now public domain. I thought it was good enough for a second season.More action and He man for season two please With episodes that have self contained adventures.

I Was looking forward to this. I love films like Excalibur and Pans Labyrinth and the trailer for the Green knight hinted at being a blend of those two movies. The story being one part à dark fantasy aimed at adults with interesting creature design and stunning visual storytelling by the filmmakers the other part deals with esoteric themes like mortality and morality explored through a meditative retelling of Arthurian legend. What you actually get is a pretentious slog with hammy thespians chewing up the slick scenary. There is some good stuff in here but nearly all of it is spoiled in the trailer and it all happens early in the movie. The main problem with the green knight is that it takes its self and the subject matter way too seriously for you to absorb the themes and enjoy its visual poetry and nearly 40 years and no one can top John Boorman classic. Sigh
