I usually don’t write reviews but if my review can be used to save someone from watching this movie then I’ll take one for the team. This movie was in all honesty one of the worst films (I don’t even think it should be given the honor of being called that) I’ve seen in a while. The plot was so ridiculous that it felt like I was watching something written by a middle school English student. Obviously the writers didn’t even bother to watch the original and just read the Wikipedia synopsis and jotted down some quotes from the film. The acting was painful to say the least; all the crying scenes literally had me laughing so hard. When Lily woke up screaming in terror, it really represented how I felt about this film. The LGBT+ representation (if u can call it that) was pitiful, don’t watch it expecting representation just because some straight white people saw it and said it was “woke”. The forced feminism was excruciating to say the least and I felt my self screaming at my lap top when the villain was literally just reduced to be sexism. I am a huge fan of the original and to see this movie, riddled with its tacky CGI, heinous acting and gaping plot holes, was akin to getting slowly run over by a minivan for an hour and a half. I wish I could make like these witches and cast a spell to get back the minutes this movie took off my life. In all honestly though, I’ll probably forget about it in two hours because that’s how forgettable this movie was. The soundtrack and costumes were the only beams of light in this dark void of a film
