Spoiler warning.
Where do i even start. Never before have i just sat through the credits after finishing a game, everything about this game makes you feel accomplished, from beating a mini-boss from just the small things like going over a waterfall on a boat and landing successfully. The whole game is your oyster, there is one goal, beat ganon. Of course there are other minuscule sidequests, but they don’t contribute all that much to finishing the game, it’s the first game that truly made me feel like i had worked hard to beat it, i had sunk 100 hours into botw before i decided to beat it, and that’s what’s so great, you decide when your ready to finally face ganon, a creature that has been terrorising you since the start of the game, I honestly can’t think of anything i didn’t like, people complain about the weapon system and how they break too quickly, but i think it works, with the amazing array of weapons in the game and the frequency you find them it definitely makes up for the low durability, the graphics of the game are incredible and incredibly unique to zelda, almost like a mix of windwaker and ocerania of time. one of my favourite parts was when i was on a boat in the middle of lake hylia and all of a sudden a huge dragon emerges from the water, this is something that just happened naturally, not in a cutscene, I’ve never seen a game do that. The combat is also really fun, the different elements that effect certain enemies makes as an awesome change to the usual Zelda combat, i also love the vast array of enemies in the game in all shapes and sizes, other than the guardians those are just downright freaky, the story is nothing special, but the build up to the final boss is awesome. The characters are endearing, and it’s an absolute gut-wrench when you find out everything that happened 100 years ago, which does add a nice change from the usual Zelda format.
The ai in this game is so cool, when a moblin loses their weapon they’ll either seek out another one or just straight up throw a smaller bokoblin at you, and each town has its own unique villagers that have their own patterns throughout the day.
perfect game 10/10
