Well...a funny adaption of bible characters. In this comic book universe, God gave up on human kind a long time ago and Jesus wanted to try to make humankind to see error of their ways by doing stuff differently than God. When Jesus gets arrested and crucified and Jesus lets them, God forbids him from returning. Cue 2000 years later, there are superheroes with actual problems and God turns to the greatest superhero who is a play on Superman/batman to teach Jesus to "man/god up"
