Yikes! Am I the only one who thinks this book was a dud and boring? The story is completely unbelievable. Marsh Girl attends just one day of school, yet somehow is able to read Einstein? An entire community allowed a young child to live alone in a swamp? The dialogue was over the top. All the locals spoke with exaggerated supposed Southern accents, yet her speech always seemed to be basic “middle America?” The odd spellings (e.g. “dawder” for “daughter”) were unnecessary and distracting. I could go on but I already wasted too much time reading this book.
