People are mad that the show focuses on race. Well no duh? Can the white people relax it doesn't always have to be about you. The show is fantastic and in an area like Freeland where in the South they are literally segregated obviously most white people will be racist. So shut your mouth and don't watch the show if you are offended by the fact that the white people are racist. And it doesn't even demonise them look at Gambi for example. The white people themselves don't hate the blacks its just the system. Like the real world but just exaggerated to get it into your thick skulls that racism still exists. THE WHOLE POINT OF THE SHOW IS THAT BLACK LIGHTNING IS BLACK FIGHTING FOR HIS NEIGHBORHOOD BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT USED THEM AS AN EXPERIMENT BECAUSE GUESS WHAT THEY ARE SEEN AS SUBHUMANS BECAUSE GUESS WHAT ITS A PREDOMINANTLY BLACK NEIGHBORHOOD. Of course the show will be focused around race and politics for crying out loud. And the people getting mad about the feminist ideas like what do you want, an all-male cast? You are mad because the women don't let the men dictate their every move. Another example of how white men are offended because everyone else is being treated equally making them feel oppressed when in reality its just everyone is being equally represented now. And let me not get started on the people complaining about the lesbian representation. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. It is not corrupting anyone because I know ya'll would not say the same about a straight couple. For Christ's sake be better.
