“Uunchai”, now streaming on Zee5 is an emotional drama scripted about the adventure of three aged friends taking up to trek to the Everest Base Camp to fulfil the last wish of their fourth friend. The filmography shot across at the various gorgeous of Nepal and Kargil locations. The movie is ventured to project the values and emotions of all those who failed to recognize the true values of love and affection in every type of relationship be it father-son, daughter-mother, husband-wife or even between brothers. And who else can cast the lead except the evergreen and ever versatile Amitabh Bachan who performs his magical acting in every facet of his role designed in the character. The story is beautifully scripted to project all the personal, emotional and spiritual life journey of all those who quit to admire the beauty of the world on account of old age and related ailments in battling against all odds despite their physical limitations and battle to discover the true meaning of freedom. Trusted friendship gets emotionally acclaimed through mental strength, stamina spirited acclimatization with the adverse high altitude conditions overcome through perseverance, will power and above all admiration of our Mother Nature. Yesteryear actresses Neena Gupta and Sarika Haasan plays subtle supporting roles to the main theme alongwith Anupam Kher. Background scores and song composition by Amit Trivedi ranks top to suit the theme of this awesome movie. A Must Watch movie with all family members especially with our elders to mutually understand and respect the values of any Relationship.

My Take on Tamil Anthology Movie “Paava kathaigal” BUNCH OF NEGATIVITY The four short films made by seasoned Directors miserably failed to find solutions to social issues and tried their best to exaggerate the reality by making mockery of the Police and the Judiciary. These films could only boomerang and spread negativity in the primitive mindsets of few perverts who promote honor killing in the society. GenNext kids could never gain anything from watching such horrible films made with perverted mindsets which would even ruin the society further on the long run. A brief review of these four short films in the Tamil Anthology 1. Thangam- Directed by Sudha Kongara: The script draws confusion as to whether it highlights upon the atrocities committed against Transgender or opposition to inter-faith marriage of young lovers in our society sticking on to age old thoughts drawing us backwards. As a result the film derives only the hard negativities about few sections that could influence right thinking and rational minded thoughts in our progressive society. Only plus point in the best acting skills of ace Malayalam actor’s son Kalidass. 2. Love Panna Uttranum- Directed by Vignesh Shivan: The Film exaggerates the concept of Casteism ruling the society. Too much of unrealistic portrayals about Casteism making mockery of the law and order polluting the minds for commission of criminal acts of murder within own family to uphold the Caste appears too much in reality. 3. Vaanmagal- Directed by Gautam Vasudev Menon: Honor Killing on account of rape of child by parents in broad daylight. How the offenders could be left at large after commission of such heinous crimes both by the gang rapists and parents the victim’s brother? Such trivial questions could never justify the making of such films? 4. Or Iravu – Directed by Vetri maaran: Truly unrealistic script that depicts Honor killing of own pregnant daughter by father due to Inter-caste marriage. The seasoned director who criticizes every petty aspect even in TV shows against upcoming youngsters aspiring to become film makers should now justify as to how two ladies could be allowed to suffer (silently) after getting locked in a house located in a village? Even the smallest creature in any village unlike in Metros or Urban Centres always get alerted by the faintest sound and the two ladies were left screaming which got unnoticed at the time of commission of crime by father who poisoned his daughter. Further CG Animations adopted to rush up completing the script could do no justification to the screenplay. This Anthology could only help to spread negativity and encourage accrual of more perverted mindsets in our society. Hence, I could only give 2 marks out of 10 and that too for the acting of young Kalidas Jayaram.

Movie lacked a sensible screenplay to reflect sensitive matters haunting our system in the name of religion by the self-styled brand ambassadors of any religion. As usual RJB proved very noisy and ineffective in this strong film script as usual. Movie appears to be aired only with the edited version (Mano Bala's scenes were totally missing) as many disconnects were blatantly apparent on the screen. RJB should try making a film about VVIP racism affecting the common man in his next project.

Beautiful movie. Defined crisply all facets of fanfare and politics attached to a film celebrity. Who can do better than Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead role. Suraj Venjaramoodu too perfomed well in his key role as Motor Vehicle Inspector and forms the main fulcrum of the screenplay. Lot of lessons for all mad fans too and the final dialogues at the climax scene sums it all. A good entertainer Indeed.

Story depicts the hard travails of a physicallly challenged postman during the world war period delivering telegrams related to war casualties to the kith and kin. Renji Panicker's innocent acting and Asha Sarath's motherly character waiting for her son's to return from war without knowing both got killed are commendable. Poverty in villages that forced youth to take up jobs in Army without knowing the fate is nicely depicted in this truthful movie. Dialogues like (Real world war is in my postbag) spell the true pains of World war. Telegrams carrying death messages made as paper boats with kuttanad village alone accounted for 650 out of 87000 Indian soldiers killed in the second world is very emotionally cast at the end of this movie.
