A masterpiece of biblical proportions. This is Tarantino's movie. He's the star and the auteur and he's not even in it. This movie is for anyone who appreciate the techniques of movie making, grew up in that era and love movies. Just an astonishing movie that blew me away. Instead of people moaning about this movie, they should be moaning that he's only going to make one more movie after this. Dam shame. Dam shame! Tarantino has no peer.
As For Brad Pit. I mean he's cool, I mean he's cooler than cool in this and Leo Dicaprio is equally brilliant as the washed up TV star. I love movies. I grew up in the 70s. I love Quentin Tarantino. I watch his movies and I'm watching master at work. Pitt's drive from Leo's Beverly Hills house through LA to his Caravan in some backlot behind a drive in movie theatre is astonishing in the way its assembled.
It's a pulp movie. That's his genre. It's pulp. Pulp consists of colourful, fictional characters interweaving with factual characters, events and situations to hardboiled comic book effect. Not contemporary comic books but the pulps of even the 70s.
This is my favourite Tarantino movie behind Jackie Brown, Inglorious Basterds and Django.
What people should be going nuts about is that fact that Tarantino's retiring after his next movie which sucks man.
Go see this movie on a big screen.
