This movie was amazing and an emotional roller coaster. Tom Cruise did an amazing job. I keep watching this movie over and over. The action scenes are intense. But the messages a person can walk away with are immense. From loyalty, honor, respect, all the way to showing the delusion of blind following. It does a great job at capturing the audience in my opinion. I cannot find a better movie than this.

I watched it when it came out and keep watching it again. If you want a movie that's historically accurate then watch a documentary. A movie might be based on a historical event, but it's a movie. It has the same theme of Persians vs Greeks. But points to a bigger picture from the sacrifice of Sparta. Might not be historical. But it makes for a good movie. It gives a back story of Xerses and his rise to power. Tried to play an emotional touch with the backstory of the Navy commander. Didn't have much character development, but that didn't seem like the point. It was a hardened general of Greece against a hardened general of Persia. Showing that Greece had a navy which was unmatched. Despite it not being a super power.
