Lovely, richly textured, and charming. Contrary to the opinion expressed in the NYTimes review, I believe this film delves bravely into the conflicted emotional nature of the primary character, and it does so in such a way that the film is miles above the standard saccharine fare. Nicely darkly comic at points. It’s so refreshing to see mature comedy rather than the typical balls and beer rubbish that pervades our screens. A nicely nuanced and brave performance by Jillian Bell, and good supporting players as well.
