I loved the movie "Fatherhood". It showed a sometimes scared, but determined father who stepped up to assume one of the most important roles in society; "A parent; and a father"! Although the maternal part of the parental union was gone; the faternal part healed and became stronger than he ever imagined. The love of his child as she aged motivated him to become more of a vital part of her life. Very touching movie.
