When the first Hyrule Warriors came out, I wasn't too interested about it, but then I played the Demo blind out of curiosity. Later on I was starting to get attached to this game and enjoyed it the whole way through.
Pros:
While you're prioritizing combat for the most part, there are secrets scattered around that could incentivize you to explore the level layout.
Each character has their unique set of actions and rarely feels like they're copying off of one another.
Cons:
The common issue that a lot of us will is the game tends to get a bit grindy with the materials to complete some of the side quests.
This might be a personal gripe, but I find that you can't find healing items half the time, making feel like it's the rarest thing in the game when you want them in urgent times.
Overall 8.5/10
Outside of the grind, I'd say this was probably one of the best games I've played out of 2020 (despite the on-going plague), because "Ages of Calamity" offers you a chance to change the future, also with a lot of good surprises on my blind playthrough.
