Paul Perla

Initially I was quite hesitant to watch the show because I really loved the first "Penny Dreadful" series. I still have difficulty in accepting"City of Angels" as part of the PD world/family. BUT on its own merits, I really like the show a lot. The characters are good and well acted and the plot is complex and entertaining. I only wish they would have left the original PD to stand on its own (or better yet, continue with those wonderful original characters and storyline.) and marketed this show as, simply '"City of Angels," from the writer of Penny Dreadful'. It is in fact, good enough to stand on its own merits.
