Wouldnt watch it right through if you paid me. The set's dead. The compere does his best, but it's a dead game of chance. No comparison to Millionaire Hotseat, which was a game that tested contestants' and watchers' knowledge.

If you like subtlety and fine writing, this is the book for you. Even though Ishiguro wasn't raised in Japan, the writing has the same subtlety I found years ago now in Kabawata and Mishima. The plot's not the main attraction here, and if you cut your teeth on western novels where plot and pace is everything, you won't like this book. I find myself still thinking about it.

Stunning. I didn't expect to like this film, just as I never expected to like Margin Call, also written and directed by J C Chandor. Also, I've never been a fan of sea movies.
But I was hooked after the first few minutes. Redford's underplayed acting is mesmerising, and there is an underlying moral in the film, but whether you pick up on it or not doesn't affect your enjoyment.
