Cranky Bartender movie review Yesterday Starring Himish Patel, Lily James, and Ed Sheeran This review is gonna be quick and dirty. World loses power for 12 seconds, and an angsty, ackward, struggling, kinda musician was somehow immune. Discovers somehow he's the only one who's heard of the Beatles, plagiarizes their stuff, shoots to world acclaim overnight. He feels guilty cause ya know... he's depressed and angsty. Pretty much a Buzz Killington. They toss in a more or less love interest, and expect us to love it because we have all had the soundtrack memorized forever. Ed Sheeran plays himself, not a cameo. He's a real part of the movie. The agent is cliche and an awful actress, whoever she was. The writers could have went anywhere they wanted with this what if concept of an idea and they got lazy... really lazy. Ho hum and yawn. I give it 2 out of 5 Meh's. I just expected more, like maybe a plotline that didn't put me to sleep.
