I for one expected so much more more from the writers of the movie. It feels like desperate attempt to create a movie that has some vague aspects but they fail to do so. The only part of the movie that took me through the whole thing was the visual effects.

The movie's highlight was how realistic and scientifically accurate it was.The only thing i noticed was wrong was that the creators seems to have assumed that the gravity of mars is like that of earth. In reality it is 38% of Earth's gravity. Therefore, the storm that blew of Matt in the first 20 minutes of the movie wouldn't have been strong enough.
