My heart aches for Mr. Jonathan Capehart after that thoughtless (could be considered racist) remark by the man from Ohio on the Friday, Nov. 3, program. How insensitive, how ignorant the man from Ohio was when he said that those stopped by police should "show more respect." Jonathan's pain was palpable when he responded that "you don't know what we go through every day!" Blaming the victims -- Black motorists who are constantly stopped and questioned, pulled out of their cars, shot in front of children -- is a constant in our society. A soldier in fatigues in a late-model SUV is pulled over and the arrogant officer in the video is clearly not showing respect to the soldier -- this is typical of a percentage of our police forces who should be fired. As a white elderly woman, I send my heartfelt apology to Mr. Capehart for being on the receiving end of what that man from Ohio said.
