I intensely disliked this flick because it was so melodramatic and sappy. It certainly would fit right into the Hallmark Channel lineup. The accompanying musical score also drove me nuts because it just never stops with its lilting upbeat sound when the mother of the boys has lost her mind while chasing the major. At some point, I thought the overwrought and egocentric Barbara Stanwyck character would declare, “Oh, poor, poor me! I need a man in my bed so badly.” I thought the sailors whistling at her as the train left definitely befitted her “condition.”
