THIS MOVIE DESERVES TO BE IN 2020
I don't typically write reviews, but the poor research, weak writing, and gaping plot holes in this movie are an insult to the audience.
Some of the biggest points:
- The writer clearly has no idea what pregnancy is like or what a person will physically be capable of after a c section. (Good luck to him when he encounters a real pregnancy in his life lol)
- Poor research on socio-economics positions Korea as a harsh entity without any actual reasoning.
- Massive time jumps that aren't explained at all.
- Death of main character (when you only have 2) happens off-screen.
- It basically combines Bird Box, A Quiet Place and Handmaid's Tale. Nothing new here.
- Zero explanation of what happened to cause the uprising or the motivation of the robots.
- "Plot twists" aren't really twists and not based in the natural flow of the narrative.
I could go on, but I've already spent way too much time on this badly-written film. Chloe complains of back pain in the film a lot, I suspect it was because she had to carry this entire thing with her acting. Nah bro, pass.
