Just finished watching Dark Phoenix, and I have to say it is completely undeserving of the current Rotten Tomatoes critics score of 22%. While I would rank the film in the middle of the X-Men movies to date, the musical score alone composed by Hans Zimmer alone is worth the admission price. It's a refreshingly serious superhero movie that carries some emotional weight, unlike the sometimes too humourous MCU movies. It's a solid send-off to the X-Men series before their Marvel integration and I would recommend it to both casual viewers and fans of the series.
