I loved this movie. I'm from Queens, so I could relate to all the NY accents shown. I'm also an accent reduction coach, and I took a course with Sam Chwat before he died in 2011. It was both funny and serious and gave the audience a flavor for how New Yorkers once lived and spoke. The movie was wonderful to watch in a recorded version, because I couldn't understand every word, so it was nice to be able to rewind and figure it out. Sam Chwat, Pete Hamill, Penny Marshall, Alan Dershowitz and James McBride all contributed a lot. It was only an hour, but my husband & I stopped it so many times to talk about the information, that it might have taken twice as long to watch, but so enjoyable. I never knew that the wealthy parents sent their children to schools in the UK to acquire a British accent! Wow!
